With a focus on motivation and user engagement, I worked on designing an intuitive wellness app that seamlessly integrates an AI buddy, helping users stay on track with their fitness, wellness, and nutrition goals through personalized support and interactive experiences.

THE INITIAL IDEA
The initial idea for this design was to create an all-in-one app to reach a user's sports, nutrition, meditation, and overall wellness goals and reduce the number of different apps for this purpose.
THE CHALLENGE
MAPPING THE NEEDS OF MODERN USER
To understand what drives users to consistently use sports, nutrition, and wellness apps, we launched non-moderated research across our social media channels.
What we found out was that:
Users are most motivated by the desire to improve their fitness and see measurable progress.
They value personalized programs and easy-to-follow tracking features.
However, many struggle with time-consuming data entry and staying motivated over time.
WHERE OUR APP BELONGS
Secondary research revealed that 82.6% have used wellness apps, with 43.5% using them regularly.
Additionally, 73.8% are interested in combining data across their existing apps.
We analyzed top wellness apps to spot market gaps and opportunities.
Most lacked a holistic approach that combines fitness, nutrition, and spirituality in a personalized way.
Few offered AI companionship or integrated seamlessly with usersā calendars.

This is why we created Emily, a chaos-juggling, calendar-stuffed human who dreams of staying fit and fabulousāif only life would chill for five minutes.
We then defined our problem: busy wellness warriors are struggling to juggle fitness, food, and mindfulness, craving a simpler way to keep it all together without dropping the (yoga) ball.
THE CHALLENGE
FEATURE FOCUS: MOTIVATION, PERSONALISATION AND SUPPORT

We centered on data tracking feature, personalized AI plans, and motivation support through an AI Buddy and real trainers.
The decision to focus on these features came because they directly responded to usersā core needs: staying motivated, saving time, and having tailored support to manage their fitness and wellness goals efficiently.
To ideate these features, we used Crazy 8s, which helped us rapidly generate and prioritize ideas.

THE CHALLENGE
Design solutions: Mid-fi Wireframes

THE CHALLENGE
User Testing and Feedback
We conducted usability tests on our mid-fi wireframes to gather feedback on the appās overall user experience.
Some of the remarks were related to misunderstanding of sync button, overwhelming content on the personalized plan page, and the home page's similarity to the profile page.
We tried to iterate by introducing more space and clarity on our screens.

THE CHALLENGE
Branding and identity
Our mood board was inspired by adjectives such as: vibrant, spiritual, and inspiring. As we were an all-female team, we decided to touch on a more feminine mood of the app but aiming to reach all genders.
THE CHALLENGE
HI FIDELITY
Our final result was a user-centric wellness app that doesnāt just provide plans; it empowers, supports, and integrates into usersā lives.
The journey to wellness is personal, and our intention was for this app to become a dedicated companion, evolving with users every step of the way.

THE CHALLENGE
KEY OUTCOMES
Our client“s dental auction platform addresses this by allowing patients to describe their dental needs and receive competitive bids from verified dentists, ensuring quality care at a lower price.
